About

Foundation Twelve48 is a donor-advised fund of the Servant Christian Community Foundation established by Troy and Cathy Burns.  The fund continues a tradition of charitable giving by the Burns family, ProPartnersMD, its physicians, staff, and patients.

Our current primary focus is with organizations that house and care for orphans in Haiti.

Mission

Foundation Twelve48 exists to fund programs and organizations that improve the health and wellbeing of children for present and future generations.  Grants are awarded to non-profit, tax-exempt organizations focused on healthcare and social service, education, parenting skills development, Christian ministry and on projects that link two or more of these areas.

Program Areas

• Healthcare and Social Services: Foundation Twelve48 supports organizations that develop and improve the delivery of healthcare to underserved areas throughout the world. We assist health programs that focus on disease prevention and health education. Particular interest is placed on organizations that provide medical and social care to orphans and their care-givers. Doctor Burns' medical practice, ProPartnersMD, its physicians and staff also contribute their time and medical expertise in support of medical facilities and programs operated by supported organizations.

• Education: Foundation Twelve48 looks for innovative educational programs that help raise the levels of academic achievement, creative expression, and leadership skills of all students. There is particular interest in programs for students from under-served communities and underdeveloped countries, and for programs that focus on the improvement of teachers' skills and performance.

• Parenting Skills Development: As a primary means of improving the lives of children, Foundation Twelve48 invests in programs and organizations that prioritize the encouragement, knowledge, parenting skill development, and accountability of parents and primary care-givers.

• Christian Ministry: Foundation Twelve48 seeks to support organizations that conduct their activities from a Christian world-view. Specifically, the foundation desires to advance the cause of Jesus Christ: that the whole world would be reached with the good news of the Gospel and that children would be brought up to know, follow, and express worship to their creator.
